The /unsw/projects/wsn directory contains the technical details of Wireless Sensor Networks Platform.
This was a 2005 thesis project completed by Arnon Politi and Tomas Renard Djunaedi.
The purpose of this thesis project is to design, build and test a generic hardware platform that can be used to develop future wireless sensor network applications. Our main board is designed around a Chipcon CC1010 which is a microcontroller based on the trusted 8051 architecture that is also equipped with integrated wireless transceiver. Furthermore, a simple power metering application was also developed in order to demonstrate the capability and versatility of our hardware. Since power consumption is of primary importance in a wireless sensor network, comprehensive data on the hardware's power consumption have also been obtained and is available in the thesis report. We hope that our work could become the foundation of future researchs in this rapidly growing technology.
